the best thing i ever ate

If I was ever featured on The Best Thing I Ever Ate, this would be the first dish on my list.
Beef and Chinese Broccoli on Flat Rice Noodles from Wonton Gourmet in Des Plaines, IL.  Now, you may wonder what makes this dish just so darn yummy.  Although it is available in many restaurants, Wonton Gourmet's version is the best ever.  First, the beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender.  The Chinese broccoli stems provide the perfect balance of crunchiness while the leaves are soft and juicy.  Above all, the noodles are made with a secret ingredient: freshly ground rice (instead of dry flour).  Although it's more laborious, this extra step makes the noodles firm but tender and super flavorful.  We often order this dish with extra noodles because they fry the edges until they are perfectly crispy.
PERFECT AND CRISPY!!!!
And of course, it wouldn't be called Wonton Gourmet if they didn't specialize in Wonton Noodle Soup.  Plump wontons sit atop a bed of chewy noodles.  Seriously one of the most legit wontons I have ever had.  I burned my tongue on the hot soup because I was so excited to slurp it all down.

My tummy is very happy tonight.  It's AWESOME to be home!
